Samples of Immigration Documents

Passenger arrival lists are among the most highly prized records for documenting an ancestor’s immigration because of the significance of that move, lists were not kept for every ship and some have been lost. The forms used for passenger arrival records weren’t standardized until the twentieth century, earlier records will vary in content.

Early passenger lists typically include the name of the ship, the names of passengers, ages, ports of arrival and departure, date, country of origin and occupation.

20th Century lists include even more details, giving the town or country of origin, and the names of other family members, destination, physical description, and more

Types of Military Documents

In 1917 and 1918, approximately 24 million men living in the United States completed a World War I Draft Registration Card, which accounts for approximately 98 percent of men in the U.S. born between 1872-1900. The total U.S. population in 1917-1918 was about 100 million individuals, so close to 25 percent of the total population is represented in these records.

Out of the respect for my client, I believe that everyone’s family history is personal and confidential. As I proceed with research on your ancestors, a common bond begins to grow. Routinely, it leads me to feel a deep connection, as though I know them. It is for this reason that I do not publish ANY personal information or projects on my website. As a future client, I hope that you will understand and appreciate this courtesy.
